Bowling Leagues
The mission of the St. Louis Arc is to empower people with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families to lead better lives by providing a lifetime of high-quality services, family support, and advocacy.
Volunteers must complete the full volunteer onboarding process before volunteering with this event. This consists of a volunteer inquiry application, a background check with Missouri Family Care Safety, and a virtual orientation.
Description: The St. Louis Arc bowling league is a long-standing league designed specifically for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. This program offers people a consistent, fun opportunity to engage in recreational bowling, build friendships, and experience a sense of community. Volunteers are vital to helping the league run smoothly and ensure that each bowler feels supported, encouraged, and included in the fun.
Responsibilities: Volunteers support bowlers by helping with scorekeeping, organizing the bowling order, and reporting any equipment issues to the Program Leader or bowling alley staff. They also assist with setting up and positioning bowling ramps or other adaptive equipment. At the end of the session, volunteers are encouraged to help tidy up by pushing in chairs around the tables. Bowling shoes are not required for volunteers to wear.
Commitment: Volunteering on every date is not required, but we encourage you to participate as often as possible. Consistent volunteer attendance is preferred
